It is common knowledge that a human being’s greatest fear is the unknown. It’s the reason many people are uncomfortable with unfamiliar foods, meeting new people, trying a new hobby or finding a different job. It’s scary—not because it’s bad, but because its new.
For most of us, having little or no control is bothersome. We enjoy being in the driver’s seat, navigating familiar roads.
But here’s the truth: If constant comfort is your aim, adventure is not in the future. That’s it. Couldn’t be simpler. Cool shit just doesn’t happen to people unless they put down their phone and get out of bed.
And remember: The first step is the most difficult.
Someone (who was obviously very wise) once told us: If you want your plans to actually happen, write them down.
We’re not sure why that’s true, but it is. Surely there’s a fancy (and highly credible) psychological explanation for why this is the case, but for our purposes, who cares? It works.
If you make a list, you naturally tend to want to check things off that list… (which you obviously can’t do without completing them). Ergo, stuff gets gone.
So, dream big. Make a list. And don’t be afraid to mess up.
Adventure awaits.
